I made it through last week when Ron was gone -- it was a very busy week. We had swim practice every morning, and then two swim meets, and my neighborhood board meeting on Wednesday night. Because I couldn't bear to spend money paying a babysitter for the board meeting, I took the guys along with me for that one.

At the first swim meet of the week (on Tuesday night), everything was going fine, until Benjamin didn't do as well as HE thought he should and he got obnoxious. He splashed both his coach and the stroke and turn judge when they came over to tell him why he had been disqualified in the race. This happened twice that night, and the coaches came to me and told me that they had decided to pull him from the second meet of the week because of his behavior. I thought that was fine. He was disappointed when they told him on Thursday morning (the day of the 2nd meet), but that was just tough nuts. He has to learn that he cannot behave that way.

Tonight, all of us, including Brigid, went to the celebration of Fr. Richard's 25th anniversary of his ordination. It was a great party, with a video presentation of Fr. Richard from his first baby pictures, to the latest pictures of him driving the bulldozer and breaking ground for our church building that is finally underway. It was terrific. There was a live band and they were really great -- a cover band that did all kinds of music, as long as someone would dance to it. Tonight, they were very lucky because James danced to every single solitary song on the playlist. He was really cutting a rug! Elias joined him on the dancefloor for a good portion of the evening -- but he was dancing with TWO ladies at a time! Benjamin refused to dance at all, and Andy danced several times, but really needs to learn how to listen to the music and try to get on the beat. He just doesn't have any idea what rhythm is....

Tomorrow, we have no swim practice. This is good -- the guys and I need a break. However, I am going to take them to the pool at Brigid's apartment (for the first time) so they can play around in her pool for a couple of hours. It should be fun -- and it is going to be about 108 degrees tomorrow, so that will be a good way to spend the morning.
