We just received the news that Sylvia Gayer, mother of Dave, Jen, and Will, died this afternoon. We will always remember Mrs. Gayer as a wonderful woman -- always smiling and getting others to smile. She almost always had a camera in her hand and recorded much of Ron's adolescence and young adulthood. Mrs. Gayer was in fine form at our wedding, in her floppy white hat, taking pictures from the time she arrived until the time she left. When we returned from our honeymoon, she delivered about 200 prints of the wedding and reception to us -- and had gotten some of the BEST pictures of our friends and family. She was very alive -- even as she got older, she was still willing to participate in the annual bicycle joust. She was a pleasure to talk with about any subject and always had something to say that made me think of things a little differently than I had before.

We will always remember her.
