Last week went by in a blur -- so much happening these days! We had a ton of soccer practices and games, and Andy had a birthday party to go to on Saturday. The church had their annual Halloween party on Sunday night and finally, my friend Joanne came out to visit and volunteer at the Tinfoilman Triathlon on Sunday. She was originally going to do the race, but had to bow out because of illness. I did only part of the race -- I did a relay, with two other women doing the swim and the run portions of the race, so I got to do the bike. It was great! However, next time I will spend some time warming up my legs. It was really hard to leap on the bike and go all out without warming up at all - I have been a little sore since then.

While we were at the race, Ron carved the pumpkins with the guys and Joanne showed me how to roast the seeds when we got home. We headed out to the party and the guys were so excited about this because they got to dress up in their costumes before Halloween. They had a great time at the party -- here is a picture of the guys:

In other news, Benjamin has been asked to apply for the gifted and talented program at his school. I signed the permission slip for him to go through testing and that will happen the second week of November. Apparently, how the program works out here is that Benjamin would be pulled from his regular classes for more advanced work. I am going to have to get more information on the whole thing (since I had no idea they actually had a program). Andy will be getting tested as well in the next couple of weeks to see where he is in his communication issues. I haven't had a chance to talk with the pediatrician yet, but I am hoping to do that today.
