Things here are heating up for Halloween. I still cannot believe how seriously people take Halloween here. The costume stores open up in September. My next door neighbors start planning their huge halloween bash in June or July. Their party is themed. So, Ron and I are going and we both have costumes this year. Last year, I was the Invisible Girl and Ron was Clark Kent. This year, the theme is fantasy heros and villians and I am going as Sybil Trelawny and Ron is going as a Ringwraith. Frankly, I am not enthused about getting dressed up and would rather go as a Ringwraith. I would much rather watch everyone else get dressed up than get dressed up myself.
Andy is planning on being the Lone Ranger this year. Benjamin wants to be a ghost. Elias is going to be a skeleton, and I don't know what James is going to be since we haven't dug out the old costumes yet to see what fits him. I will, of course, post lots of pictures on Halloween!
I have decided to drop my mileage for the El Tour de Tucson. I am going to attempt the 80 mile route and Ron is planning on doing all 109 miles. I think this is a good decision intellectually, but I feel kind of bad about it -- kind of like I am quitting before even starting. To get ready, Spencer has suggested that I do a 4 hour ride this weekend; a 5 hour ride next weekend (the same weekend as the guys' football Bowl games); and then a 3 hour ride the following weekend so that I am ready to go for the El Tour on November 18. It looks like Lance Armstrong and Floyd Landis are both going to be doing the race too! I would die if I met Floyd Landis. I think he is just great!
